How to give Salaams when visiting Graves
On the authority of ibn Abbas (r) Prophet Muhammad (s) made this Dua when visiting the Graves:“As-salamu alaikum ya ahlul-qubur! Yaghfirul-lahu lana wa lakum, antum salafuna wa nahnu bil-athar.”

The translation of this dua is: “Peace be upon you O inhabitants of the grave! May Allah forgive us and you; you are our predecessors and we are to follow you.”

“A seeker should be someone who has left himself and connected his heart with the Divine Presence. He stands in His Presence performing his obligations while visualizing the Divine with his heart. Allah’s Light has burned his heart giving him a thirst for the nectar of roses, and withdrawing the curtains from his eyes, allowing him to see His Lord. If he opens his mouth it is by order of the Divine Presence. If he moves it is by the order of Allah, and if he becomes tranquil it is by the action of the Divine Attributes. He is in the Divine Presence and with Allah.”

From – The forty rules of love and life by Shams Tabrizi

35. In this world, it is not similarities or regularities that take us a step forward, but blunt opposites. And all the opposites in the universe are present within each and every one of us. Therefore the believer needs to meet the unbeliever residing within. And the unbeliever should get to know the silent faithful in him. Until the day one reaches the stage of being the perfect human being, faith is a gradual process and one that necessitates its seeming opposite: disbelief.

O  Beautiful, Perfect,Glorious Moon,

The Beauty of you who can deny.

Your beckoning lighting up the world.

Was it that you descended out of the Sky
A special favour
granted to some to savour?

With The Most Blessed of names, Muhammad(pbuh)
Written on your face.
Be it that I could embrace you with my heart and my Soul.
Nothing is ever the same, except the Longing and the Yearning!

There is an often repeated word

Spoken in the Quran

it sounds like Saw La Ha

We’ll transliterate it ‘Salaha’

Three letters often read

Some interpret it ‘righteousness’

Others ‘good deeds’

Salaha speaks of reconciliation

Healing where it is needed,

born out of the light of Purity in the heart.

A purity that when found

cannot be corrupted

if held steadfast to its Source

To open up the fullness of your Light

At what level do we exist?

When we look down into ourselves

Trillions of Cells

DNA that would span across our solar system

Atoms and molecules

Lights and strings of intelligence

Springs and oceans that we can call ‘us’

Salaha

We are invited to reconcile vibration,

polarization,

The conflict, tug of war, pulling upon our persons

Into the drama that we project upon each other

and suffer reaction and…
